Hampton House is a renovated two-storey holiday house at Shoal Point, on Mackay's Northern Beaches: a whole-house holiday rental with 4 bedrooms (one made up on request), 3 bathrooms and a private fenced pool. It sleeps 8.

Layout

Upstairs and down

There are 4 bedrooms: three upstairs, and a downstairs retreat made up as the fourth on request. The living, cooking and swimming are downstairs.

Upstairs, the main bedroom has a walk-in robe and opens onto a covered balcony. Two more bedrooms share the level with two bathrooms, and there is a second covered balcony. Downstairs is the kitchen, the laundry, the dining room and lounge that open onto the pool deck, a third bathroom, a media room, a retreat, and the second retreat that is made up as bedroom 4 on request.

The main bedroom has a walk-in robe and its own covered balcony. The fourth is a downstairs retreat, made up as a bedroom on request.

Upstairs there are two covered balconies, up among the treetops.

The main bedroom opens onto one of them. Somewhere to sit with a book in the morning, out of the sun, with the breeze coming through.

Outside

The pool and the deck

The pool is in-ground and fenced, with a covered deck at one end, an open deck at the other, and lawn and outdoor seating around it.

The dining room and lounge open straight onto the pool deck, and the outdoor dining table sits under the covered deck, a few steps from the water. There is a BBQ, and across the pool a garage and pool house.

Living and dining

Open plan, under the raked ceiling

The living and dining room is open plan under a raked white ceiling, with stacker doors straight out to the pool.

A long dining table sits between the lounge and the pool deck. There are two TVs and air conditioning throughout, and downstairs a media room and a retreat, so a bigger group is never all in one room.

The kitchen

Built around a long stone island

A long stone island, an induction cooktop, a wall oven, a full-height fridge and a dishwasher.

There is a Nespresso machine with a kettle, toaster and microwave alongside, and the island looks straight through to the dining room and the pool doors.

Work stays

For crews and business stays

Three bathrooms, Wi-Fi, a desk, a washer and dryer and a proper kitchen make the house an easy base for a team working in Mackay.

Mackay is a mining and services hub, and plenty of jobs need a crew for a few nights midweek. The city is about 19 km, around 25 minutes by car away. After a shift there is a proper kitchen to cook in, a washing machine for the work gear, and the pool.
